Feature Highlights of SESB 3.0
Original Language Editions with Critical Apparatus
The scholarly Bible versions in SESB (BHS, BHQ, GNT, NA27, LXX, Vulgate) also include the text critical apparatus of the printed editions. Just click on a reference sign to view the corresponding apparatus entry. Sigla and abbreviations are explained in pop-up windows.
Flexible Search Options
All Bible versions, dictionaries and reference works in SESB are searchable. Flexible search options allow you to limit your search to specific books or individual search ranges, and to search with operators and wildcards (* and ?). Search results can easily be printed out, saved or copied to other applications.
Searching by Lemma
BHS, Nestle-Aland, and the Septuagint feature a special lemma search. With this search you find all inflected forms of a word by simply entering the infinitive. You can even demand a certain number of hits in a specific number of verses or chapters to find passages with a significant accumulation of the search term.
Search with Linguistic Databases
The morphological search in Greek and Hebrew Bible text and the syntax search with the linguistic WIVU database, facilitate your exegetical work a lot. They allow not only to search for morphological features, but – in the BHS text – even for syntactic structures. No other Bible software offers such a sophisticated functionality!
Copy Text to your Word Processor
With the special text export feature of SESB you can easily copy any Bible text passage (also in Greek or Hebrew script) to your word processor for further editing. To make this as comfortable as possible, several templates for exporting text according to your needs are available.
